Occupli, owned by Irish private-equity firm Erisbeg, the largest Irish-based international provider of environmental health and safety training, is proud to announce the acquisition of Vobling and to introduce the VR Fire Trainer™ to the market.

Established over 25 years ago in Cork and now with offices in Dublin and London, Occupli is Ireland’s leading provider of health and safety training, Food Safety, recruitment, consultancy, environmental solutions and now VR Fire Training.

In a game-changing development for fire safety training in the workplace, the VR Fire Trainer™ teaches workers how to fight fires without fire.

Developed by Vobling, a Swedish company based in Stockholm, it is an easy-to-use stand-alone digital training solution that simulates various fire training scenarios.

Vobling is now an Occupli company following the recent acquisition by its parent company and Irish Private Equity Firm, Erisbeg.

Erisbeg Partner and Chair of Occupli, Andrew Murphy, said, “Occupli has been Ireland’s leading force in the compliance space for over 25 years with a substantial focus on Fire safety training and consultancy. This represents Occupli’s third acquisition in 12 months and its first international-based acquisition. It reflects the growth ambitions of the team and a step change move into the digital training space which further illustrates the quality of the businesses they are attracting. This unique VR experience demonstrates our commitment to remaining ahead of the curve when it comes to delivering exceptional training and services in Ireland and abroad.”

The Managing Director of Occupli, Martin Clancy, explains, “We are excited about the potential that Vobling and its unique solutions, such as the VR Fire Trainer™, can offer to our extensive client-base. This strategic acquisition demonstrates further our commitment to grow our business internationally and it builds on our two successful acquisitions and the rebranding of the business in 2023.”

The VR Fire Trainer™ is an efficient digital training experience that provides the users with realistic situations and smoke formation while making it possible to train multiple fire scenarios within minutes.

VR Expert and Managing Director with Vobling, Amanda Bengtsson, said “Vobling has demonstrated its potential through the VR Fire Trainer™, and we are excited about growing our business further internationally as part of Occupli.

Trainees will practice the PASS technique (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) using a real fire extinguisher without the release of the extinguishing agent or the need for the creation of real fires, allowing for a sustainable training session.

The user’s training performance in each fire scenario, remaining extinguishing agent, time to extinguish and how much smoke the user inhales can be measured to ensure a complete learning experience.

Throughout the transition, Occupli and Vobling have operated uninterrupted with support for the deal coming from Karl Eklund of Kanter, Unum Tax and RBK.
