What is the role of the Project Supervisor Construction Stage?

The role of the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) is to manage and co-ordinate health and safety matters during the construction stage. The PSCS is appointed prior to construction work on any site beginning and remains until all construction work on the project is completed. It is the PSCS' duty to develop a suitable construction safety & health plan for the project prior to the commencement of construction work. The plan provides the blueprint for managing and coordinating safety and health during construction and explains in detail how the key safety and health issues will be managed. It must be relevant to the project and should be developed in conjunction with the Safety and Health Plan prepared on a preliminary basis by the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP).

The PSCS will work closely with the site manager/ managers to ensure all health & safety matters stay on target.

After coming back from oversees this was a great course to get back up to speed with safety requirements in Ireland. Our instructor knew what he was talking about, encouraged questions and answered to the best of his abilities and knowledge.
