History of the Company
Occupli Limited was originally founded in 1996 as CMSE; an Environmental Health and Safety Consultancy. We added EHS training services in 1998 and EHS recruitment and placement services in 1999. In 2007 Carbon Action was established in London providing carbon emissions and energy training and consultancy services.
In 2009, CMSE and Carbon Action were joined in a group structure under the brand Chris Mee Group.
Today the company is called Occupli Limited and is a leading provider of quality, cost-effective, professional services focusing on Health and Safety, Energy, Environmental and Carbon Emissions.

Martin Clancy
Managing Director

Martin is an accomplished business leader with 25 years’ experience focused on value delivery,
market development and relationship building. Martin has particular strength in shaping
organisational vision, strategic planning and implementation. He has a very strong commercial
acumen combined with driving results through people. He believes that businesses are built
with people and through people.
Following a year as Student Union President in University College Cork, Martin joined BUPA
Ireland where he rose to the position of Head of Sales and Marketing over his ten years with the
company, during that time, membership grew from 30,000 to over 500,000. Martin started as a
Business Development Manager holding five different positions with the business over ten
years. Subsequently, Martin joined Euromedic (Affidea), as Chief Operating Officer, where he
undertook the expansion and commercialisation of the healthcare business which saw
acquisitions and development of new healthcare facilities across the country.
Prior to joining CMG, Martin was the Managing Director of Mater Private Cork, where he lead
the significant growth of the hospital, development of a new strategy, recruitment of 25%
additional consultants and moved the hospital to a very strong financial position, growing
EBITDA significantly over 2 years. Martin was the Managing Director of DCC Oil Ireland in a
previous role, a subsidiary of DCC Plc, with an annual turnover of €0.5bn and saw the EBIT grow
by x 7 under Martin’s leadership.
Martin has significant experience in Business Growth, M&A, HR, Sales, SEEC, Coaching and
General Management operating at c-suite level for over 15 years.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Maths as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in
Applied Economics from University College Cork and a Masters in Business Administration from
University of Limerick.
Thomas Davy

Thomas has a long career in the PLC arena as a senior executive with DCC PLC (Dublin-headquartered FTSE 100 Group) where he was responsible for the Environmental division. He was involved since the inception of the division to its leading positions in both the Irish and British markets.
Thomas led the successful implementation of an aggressive growth and expansion strategy which included the acquisition of multiple companies along with significant organic growth. Prior to the inception of the Environmental division,
Thomas held senior executives roles in both the Energy and Food/Beverage divisions within DCC. Thomas’s early career was with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a Chartered Accountant and has M.Acc and B.Comm degrees from University College Dublin.
Darren O’Keeffe

Darren has been with the company for 18 years and a director of Occupli for 13 years. He is a member of the senior leadership team and responsible for the commercial performance of the Consultancy Division of CMSE since 2007. During that period the company has become one of the largest independent providers of EHS related services in the country.
The Consultancy Division has developed a particular expertise and track record in occupational hygiene, ergonomics, process & chemical safety, fire safety and construction safety management and a very strong client base among Irish and international multinational sector, semi-state, and state organisations across all industry sectors.
Darren is Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and an Associate Member of the Irish Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
He holds an MBS from IMI/UCC, a Postgraduate Diploma in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester and a Diploma in Safety Health and Welfare at Work from University College Cork.
Alan Kerr

Alan co-founded Harbourmaster Capital Management (‘Harbourmaster’) in 2001. Harbourmaster was a leading investor in the European alternative credit space and was well recognised within the industry for its award winning track record and investment team.
In 2012, Harbourmaster was acquired by Blackstone, the leading global alternative asset management firm. At Blackstone, from 2012 to 2017 he was a Senior Managing Director, responsible for the European Customised Credit Strategies Business. Overseeing investments in leveraged loans, high yield bonds and structured credit across various investment strategies.
In addition Alan co-founded Bonkers Money in 2010 and is involved in a number of other businesses. Alan’s early career was with EY and Euro Capital Structures. He is a Chartered Accountant and has M.Acc and B.Comm degrees from University College Dublin.
Robert Burns

Robert, BBLS, M.Acc, FCA has extensive commercial experience across businesses in a wide range of sectors and has been a Director of a number of private companies.
Robert was the Group Head of Corporate Development at diversified holdings group One51 plc (now IPL Plastics plc, a leading rigid plastics manufacturer for the packaging, environmental containers and industrial products sectors operating manufacturing facilities in Ireland, the UK, North America and China) where he was a member of the Senior Management Team.
Robert previously worked with IAWS Group plc and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.
Andrew Murphy

Andrew is well known across Ireland’s startup and entrepreneurial community. A Chemical Engineer and formerly Chemical Plant Manager with Henkel KGAA for the first part of his career, Andrew founded a healthcare technology startup, Slainte Healthcare in 2006.
Over time this grew into two entities, one Claimsure being sold to Clanwilliam Health in 2015 after establishing itself as the central platform for Revenue Cycle Management across the Irish Health System. The second, Vitro Software is an electronic medical record platform that has scaled internationally.
Andrew was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014. Since 2016, Andrew has assisted numerous companies to scale internationally. In addition he has helped found and grow Robotify Labs, a rapidly growing ed-tech and robotics simulation company.
