Course Objectives
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Assess the safety and risks of manual handling tasks
- Recommend measures to reduce the risk of injury
- Safely lift and handle loads using correct techniques
- Identify ergonomic risks and suggest appropriate control measures
- Deliver effective instruction on the theory and practice of safe manual handling
Target Audience
Course Aim
The QQI Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and competence required to design and deliver effective manual handling training in the workplace.
Entry Requirement
Attendees must be at least 18 years of age.
Course Contents
Day 1 – Unit 1: Legal requirements and manual handling management
Day 2 – Unit 2: Anatomy and back care
Day 3 – Unit 3: Ergonomic principles and risk assessment
Day 4 – Unit 4: Planning and designing manual handling training programmes
Day 4 – Unit 5: Delivering manual handling training
Day 5 – Final assessments
