Health & Safety Consultant Permanent role

Occupli now seeks an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to join the expanding team of health and safety professionals based out of the Cork office.
Requirements
The consultant will be a highly motivated and driven safety professional, capable of working both under their own initiative and as part of the larger consultancy team, to provide consultancy services to meet client requirements. The main focus of the role will be fulfilling the duties of the PSDP for a very large portfolio of educational, healthcare, commercial and residential projects currently ongoing. The role will also include supporting the wider consultancy team to provide a range of health and safety related services to clients including audits, inspections, safety management system development etc.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be qualified to at least third level in a H&S and/or construction/engineering related area
- Have at least 5 years’ relevant experience in health and safety preferably in the construction or engineering sector
- Be a Chartered Member of IOSH, or be willing to work towards achieving that or equivalent
- Have strong knowledge and understanding of the PSDP and other roles, and all relevant legislation and guidance in this area
- Have experience of general auditing, inspections and accident/incident investigation
- Have excellent report writing capability
- Ideally have the ability to deliver training in H&S related areas
- Have excellent computer skills
- Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills essential.
This is a full-time permanent role based in our Cork office however there is the possibility for part-time or some remote based working. The role will report directly to the Consultancy Manager. A full driver’s license is essential. The role will primarily be working with senior members of the team providing support on our large PSDP portfolio of projects, but also in the delivery of a wide range of related H&S consultancy services. For the right candidate, this will be a fantastic opportunity for career development and enhancement while working with an excellent team of dedicated H&S professionals who provide a wide variety of expertise to our clients. Relevant in house and externally sourced training will of course be provided where necessary.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree/diploma in an engineering/health and safety/construction related area
- Have 2-4 years’ relevant work experience
- Possess good project management skills
- Have excellent written and computer capabilities
- Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
A full driver’s licence is essential.
This is a full-time, permanent role based out of our Cork office.
