PHECC Cardiac First Response (CFR) Community Course Programme

The Occupli PHECC Cardiac First Response (CFR) Training Course is a 4 hour training course. It is intended for personnel who wish to become certified providing CFR to patients requiring treatment. 

Topics include: Common problems requiring CFR, administration of aspirin, use of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), what to do in an emergency situation, CPR for Adults/Children/Infants.

Who Is This Course Intended For?

Personnel who wish to become certified providing CFR to patients requiring treatment.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise the signs of a life-threatening emergency.
  • Respond in an effective, safe and appropriate manner, to a life-threatening emergency, utilising basic life support skills.
  • Retrieve and appropriately use, if required, an automated external defibrillator during a cardiac arrest.
  • Report and record their actions and interventions appropriately and handover to emergency medical services.
Entry Requirements

Attendees must be a minimum of 18 years old. A course participant should be mature enough to comprehend the knowledge, skills and implications associated with defibrillation and have a maturity to complete assessment to receive certification.

Cardiac First Response (CFR) Training Course – PHECC Certification

Accreditation

On successful completion of this course participants will receive a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) Cardiac First Response Certificate and card which is valid for 2 years.  PHECC are the regulator for emergency medical services (EMS) in Ireland and their role is to protect the public. The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) is an independent statutory agency with responsibility for standards, education and training in the field of pre-hospital emergency care. PHECC also maintain a statutory register of EMS practitioners.
